Welcome to Hunter Dance Academy
Hunter Dance Academy has now been established in the Hunter for 5 years.
During this time we have grown to become the one of the largest studios in the region. We strive to provide a happy and caring environment in which your child can learn. Dance is a very pleasurable pastime. It not only gives a young person confidence, poise and self discipline, it is also great fun! We aim to ensure that we maintain a healthy balance of fun, achievement & learning.
Hunter Dance Academy offers students a variety of dance experiences from 3 years to adults. Our highly qualified teachers work together to ensure all students enjoy dancing as well as reaching their potential.
Hunter Dance Academy is a place where children can begin to experience the love of dance and develop the skills necessary to achieve consistently high standards in all areas of dance.
Each year children who have attained the appropriate dancing level are given the opportunity to enter British Dance Assoiation (B.D.A) examinations.
Hunter Dance Academy prides itself on developing the skills and abilities of all it's students, whatever their standard or goals.
Our main objective is to foster a life-long enjoyment of dance through a positive stimulating dance tuition environment.

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the 2012 Dance Year... for those of you who are new to the Academy its great to have you onboard... to my returning students I cant wait to see you all very soon and see how much you have all grown over the break!
A couple of things to keep in mind for this year:
~Term 1 classes commence Tuesday 24th January, all those who pre purchased uniforms at reenrolment or online prior to 27th December will recieve the uniforms at your first lesson or via post for those who paid for postage. Parents and students who are just now ordering there will be a delay in your uniforms as these are custome made and ordered from our Sydney company. They will work very hard to get them out to us asap but for now just make sure you have all the correct footwear for classes and wear long or 3/4 black tights and a white singlet top :)
~ Invoices for term one (or full year depending on what was selected on your enrolment forms) will be distributed during now and week one. For those wishing to save a little extra be sure to take note of the Ëarly Payment Fee"option! All fees are due by no later then week three to avoid overdue charges or decline of participation. If you need any financial assistance with fees be sure to contact Miss Kayla immediatly to discuss payment plans. All financial arrangements are strictly confidential!
~ There has been a lot going on over the holidays with the studio recieving a new fresh look and a all new floor thatnks to the wonderful work of A&K Flooring Singleton and the assistance of some wonderful dance mums who rolled up their sleeves and helped paint our new colours so a big thank you to you all and especially to Miss Kayla's husband for all the work he has done also.
~A reminder to parents that we only have a small waiting area and it is important if there is several students attending classes that we also wait down stairs to avaoid congestion at class change overs :)
~STRANGER DANGER is so important , so we ask parents that they remind their children that they are never to leave the premisis without an adult and for parents to always ensure their children are a wear of your pickup times.
~ We are very excited to welcome Miss Emily to the studio this year teaching Ballet and Modern/Contemporary... Miss Emily is extreemly talanted and has such a beautiful soft nature I'm sure you will all love her and show her how welcome she is!!
~ REMEMBER ... NO MOBILE PHONES are permitted inside the dance studio, staff have phones should there be an emergencie and is you wish for your child to carry a phone it must be switched off and remain in students bags at all times so as to avoid any lost of propoerty, disruption to classes or distractions to students who need to check their face book every 10 seconds incase something BIG has occured :), phones caught in class will meet Miss Kayla's Big Bucket of water.... you have all be warned !!
~ Appropriate footwear at all times for classes, so students remember to always check you have everything for your lessons, dont always rely on mum and dad they are very busy and you need to ensure when you come to class you come prepared. The best way to never forget is to help mum or dad pack your dance bag or do it yourself and dont forget your water bottle for all that thirsty work we will have you do :)
~Jewellery, nailpolish etc is not a part of the academy uniform and all students and parents are full warned about excessive jewellery,make up etc. Please remove it before class or donate it to HDA Jewellery box where it will be given to the local opp shop (I hear they love getting new jewellery!!!) Clocks are in the studio so a watch is not necessary, a necklace is not permitted unless it is for medical purposes, bangles,bracelets are not allowed unless medical and earings are simple small studs or sleepers no shanderleers!!
~All the academy music is on this years cd's we advise those who have not purchased a music cd to do so... this will ensure there is no excuses for students not practising at home... girls and boys remember Miss Kayla and Teachers only have you for one day a week the other 6 days are your responsability to practise and remember what you have been taught... They do not call it "HOMEWORK"for nothing! I had some wonderful excuses last year including the best of all "Mum didnt tell me I had to practise"... My lillte angles mummy is not the one dancing you are and if mummy can remember to take you to lessons im sure you can remember to practise!! ( parents a little encouragement would really help me out with this if you can :)
~Syllabus training will begin in term 1 with information going home to parents requesting examination intrests before the end of term.
~There seams to be a little delay on last years Concert DVD...? I have been informed it is comming and I am so excited to receive it so lets be patient together.
~If anybody has a uniform that seems too big or small you are welcome to swap around with others however all uniformes are based on those indicated on the order forms.
~ If any mum or dad who has a business or hobby they might think is worth while promoting in our new monthly newsletters feel free to email me something so I can pop it in :)
